What could be described as a proper pub its a great little basic Irish boozer, It was very welcoming to our crowd of crawlers and the free sausage rolls, hot and cold went down a treat as did my pint of Hobsons Town Crier.

I was in the second wave of PuG crawlers to the Lamp Tavern but still managed to visit whilst there was some sausage rolls left. This is a fantastic little Irish pub and I can only concur with previous reviewers with regards to the warm welcome from the Landlord and the other regulars who were in situ in the main bar room and to the quality of the ales which was very good if my Hobson Best was anything to go by.
What I can add however, as the door to the Lily Langtry room was open when I went to the loo, is that this is a further lounge bar in a sizeable room with its own short servery and comfy looking padded button backed banquette seating. There is no natural light but does have a small stage at the rear presumably for live music. However the room looked like it hadn’t been used for a fair while and I guess they haven’t started live music since reopening.

Out in the middle of nowhere, this is well described below, with a friendly local crowd and landlord to match and rare for an Irish pub in that it sells a selection of real ales and quality ones to boot.
I went for the Hobson's Town Crier which I recall was very good.
