This is an exciting collaboration between two leading lights of their generation of traditional singers. George Sansome (Granny’s Attic) and Matt Quinn (Dovetail Trio and Coverdale) sing traditional folk songs from the British Isles, both unaccompanied, and accompanied on mandolin and guitar. Their well-blended voices and close harmonies create a warm, enthralling sound and their English folk instrumental styles complement each other perfectly. Matt is also known for his solo work focusing on traditional songs from Sussex and is a skilled performer with a distinctive voice and sprightly mandolin style. George, who also performs solo, is a deft guitarist with a rich, sweet voice.

Damien is doing a solo tour, and we are delighted to have him back at the club. He is no stranger as over the years we have booked him in many guises. A fine interpreter of traditional songs and the respect he gives them shines through with the knack of using a sympathetic accompaniment mainly on concertina. Though he is not hidebound by the tradition and is just as easy singing a contemporary number. Come early as he is a very popular guest.
