We have only one reason for booking this guy and that is the joy he brings to performing at clubs, ceilidhs and concerts. Folk gatherings of all sorts have benefitted from having him and his vast repertoire to entertain them. What to expect: Shanties, ballads and even some music hall numbers. His musicianship is first rate and he still has time to be one of “The Pitmen Poets” So there you have it come along and join in.

Steve Turner
We welcome back Steve Turner to the club. Steve is one of the many guests we had to reschedule so it is great to have him back at the Diamond. He hails from a long family line of wonderful Concertina players and is also a fine ballad singer. He is at home on the concert stage as well as an intimate folk club room like ours. We have booked Steve down through the years and yet he always manages to sound fresh and new. Come along and be enchanted by his easy manner and bring your voice for the choruses.
A welcome return to Chris Elliott and Caitlin Jones who hail from Staffordshire and have been performing together since 2014. What to expect, well Chris plays guitar and bouzouki, Caitlin plays various whistles as well as the harmonium and they both sing. They are proud to perform songs from their own area as well as a mixture of both trad and self penned material. Get ready to join in a chorus or two.
With a love of his Teesside birthplace and the people who dwell and work there, Richard has salted his repertoire of songs of the land and sea sung with commitment. Much of his self-penned material is now sung up and down this country often passed off as traditional, but sounding so much better sung by man himself. He also has a passion for traditional songs and ballads and this is all held together by his unique guitar accompaniments. Be ready to sing.
We welcome back Tom McConville, this wonderful fiddle player and vocalist from Tyneside, who brings a wealth of talent and experience to share with us tonight. Tom is well respected by the many people he has worked with, but I think his magic comes to the fore in front of a live audience as the tunes flow, sometimes at breakneck speed other times in a halting but beautiful slow air all interspersed with a dry wit. The songs and tunes range from his beloved North East to Ireland, USA and beyond. There will be plenty of opportunities to join in the choruses.
