Stan is celebrating 40 years in the business of folk and we felt it was only fitting that you should have the chance to hear him perform. His stories are legendary and his songs are unforgettable. Learn them at your peril as you can do yourself an injury trying to imitate him. Patter songs, observations on life, and the doings of our historic forefathers, they are all there. You will laugh and cry, or both, at the same time. You have been warned!

Mat Green and Andy Turner
We welcome back the duo Mat Green and Andy Turner who make their second visit to the Diamond. They are of course stalwarts of various groups including Magpie Lane. Mat plays fiddle with Andy on anglo-concertina and vocals. They have a vast repertoire of English tunes and songs but can be also guaranteed to spring a few surprises. A night to look forward to.
George is paying us his first visit as a soloist though he is no stranger to the club. You will know him as one third of Granny’s Attic; but he is fast gaining a reputation as a talented guitarist and singer. He sings a variety of songs from the British Isles and farther afield, both traditional and contemporary. He is also a stunning player of instrumentals on the guitar which makes him an all round performer.
We welcome back to the club the sisters from Yorkshire, Ruth and Sadie Price. Good strong voices and fine close harmony singing, mainly traditional, with some songs garnered from their late dad Bill. You will have plenty of opportunity to join in and you might even be treated to a shanty or two.
The Waite Collective are paying us another visit. Mal and her two daughters, Rebecca and Katrina, have the ability to sing in harmony while effortlessly swapping the melody line. What to expect is not easy to answer as they have an eclectic repertoire. Expect sad or happy traditional, or great contemporary songs sung with humour joy and banter. Come and join in the choruses.
