We have only one reason for booking this guy and that is the joy he brings to performing at the club. Benny can call on his vast knowledge of all sorts of song from shanties to songs of his beloved North-East as well those from the music hall era. He is also an accomplished melodeon player. Choruses? Of course.
This is a rare chance to see this a capella duo locally. Their fresh and exciting take on English and Scottish traditional song has captivated audiences in folk clubs and festivals over the last ten years. Their performance has been described as ‘perfection in timing and expressive melody. We love the sound they make and of course you will get the opportunity to join in.
Mal is an exile from Brum so we are tasked to bring her back regularly to regale you. Her choice of songs varies from music hall to the tradition and beyond but her singing of them is breathtakingly beautiful and her range can leave you gasping. Watch out for her self-penned songs that are sprinkled throughout the performance.
We welcome Pete from Coventry where he is part of the well known Aardvark Ceilidh Band. Expect some great melodeon playing along with a wonderful collections of songs and tunes and you will have plenty of opportunity to join in.
