Nov 19th The Green Man Play

The Green Man Play

The Ancient Legacy–takes us on a journey through the seasons and the farming year both past and present celebrating them in music, song, poetry and humorous sketches. Narrators introduce you to the modern farmer struggling with ministry documents, and the ploughboy of long ago as they journey through Spring ploughing, haymaking and harvest until Christmas celebrations before starting again with another year.

Nov 5th Bill Whaley and Dave Fletcher ** Cancelled **

Bill Whaley and Dave Fletcher

Unfortunately, the appearance of Bill and Dave has been cancelled due to ill health.

This may be bonfire night but we’ve got a couple of guys that if we put a penny in their hat we would deserve more than a rocket. Lincolnshire's very own Bill Whaley and Dave Fletcher are coming to play and sing and all you have to do is join in the choruses. You’d better be good because they’re brilliant. All this is delivered with wit and style. Come early for a seat.

Oct 22nd Trio Threlfall

Trio Threlfall

Jane and Amanda Threlfall possess a rare talent. They breathe new life into traditional songs in a way that makes you feel that it was always meant to be like this. Although accomplished musicians, they’re aided and abetted by the group’s third member, Roger Edwards, is a musician who can do sensitive song accompaniment or positive English music with equal relish. Their new CD “Sweet Nightingale” has had rave reviews.

Oct 8th Colum Sands

Colum Sands

We welcome back Colum for his second visit.  He is a member of the internationally renowned Sands Family from County Down and he writes and sings about the lives and foibles of ordinary everyday people but he imbues them with a warmth and sincerity that transforms them in your mind so that you feel you know and love them as much as he does. His songs are covered by the great and the good but he is the best exponent of them.

Oct 1st Janet Russell

Janet Russell

Janet escapes from JigJaw to do a solo evening for us. She combines songs of social comment with Scottish ballads and diddling (that’s mouth music to you). She can make you laugh or cry but you will be spellbound by her voice. She also has a new CD out called “Love songs and fighting talk”.
