May 12th. We are pleased to have the Snapes back at the club.
Author: Paul Ryan
2016-2017
We are pleased to have the Snapes back at the club. There is no one quite like them , being equally at home with traditional material or songs from the music hall and variety days. Barbara’s lovely clear voice and Peter’s sensitive melodeon are a joy to the ear. The material is delivered with a light touch that belies a professional and well honed performance. Come early they are very popular.
We welcome back Dick Miles after a lengthy absence due to the fact that he now resides in the south of Ireland. A fine player of the English concertina, Dick has a love of English traditional songs and tunes. I notice the Irish music creeping into his repertoire as well. This is a rare chance to see him over here.

This is the second visit of Granny’s Attic. This young trio from Worcester comprising vocals, fiddle, guitar and squeezeboxes have bags of enthusiasm and I defy you to remain still while they sing and play. We are pleased to get them as they are very busy both at club and festival level. We had a full house the last time so come early.
Mike Nicholson has the enviable talent to make any song he sings his own. He has a varied repertoire and is not afraid to embrace both traditional and contemporary material which he delivers with ease both in a folk club setting or a concert stage. He has a strong rich voice which is well suited to choruses so you will have to play your part to play.
